Some of my friends and I spent months studying information online and in books to write an ebook for you, you who want to help someone — a woman, man, child, employee, partner, grandchild — you think is being abused. In the end, we felt the best thing to do was to tell you how to find the best resources and advice in your own community (see Free Report). We’ve also recommended one source of information on the Internet that’s simple and straightforward (see below), and won’t overwhelm you with information or multiple pages of stuff.

Search engines don't tell you what's the BEST information on topics like domestic violence and abuse. Our free report and this website we recommend help people find the most credible, reliable and SAFE information sources. Continue reading →

A big problem these days is TOO MUCH information. Absolutely anybody can set up a free blog and show up in your search engine results with whatever information (or misinformation) and advice they want, even if it’s crazy or dangerous. The search engines try to rank for relevance and credibility, but really can’t. It’s a miracle if the average person can find the best information without guidance. Our Free Report is all about just getting you to the most credible, reliable sources for good, safe information. Having said all that by way of a disclaimer, here’s one site we think is good information the authors have been able to communicate in short, understandable, practical ways: http://www.helpguide.org/mental/domestic_violence_abuse_types_signs_causes_effects.htm.

DomesticViolenceSolutions.com is a blog that reports on advice for employers, grandparents, friends and others who wish they could help someone involved in domestic violence or abuse, or his/her children. What to do, what to say, where to go. Continue reading →

It’s for you, if you’re concerned about someone you think is being abused, or about his or her children.

Maybe you’re an employer who’s worried about the functioning of a partner, customer, or team member, and wondering what you can do…should do…must do…must say. You’ve talked to a few people about this, but would like a better analysis of your options and the resources in your area.

Maybe you’re a grandparent, worried about the impact abuse is having on your grandchildren. Growing up in a home with abuse of any kind can scar children for life, even if they’re not directly involved. If the abuse is violent, it may also endanger the community by fostering another generation of abusers. This is an increasingly common phenomenon.

Or maybe you’re just a friend or neighbor who has a caring concern. You’re not sure what do to or say. You don’t want to make your friend or his/her abuser angry. You don’t want to take a chance of putting yourself or your family in harm’s way by getting involved. You’ve heard that 75% of women who try to leave abusive situtations get killed. But you wish you could do SOMETHING to stop the abuse, or at least protect the children involved.

Our effort is to digest some of the good work others have done and boil it down into short reports with simple language and sensible solutions you can consider. To find the best books, blogs and websites we can recommend for you so you don’t have to search them all yourself. To bring you practical articles and information from national experts who specialize in situations like these.

So keep up with us over the next several weeks and months to see what we can offer you!
